Abstract
Fergus, owner of Goodlake's Deli, is having an affair with a much younger woman - a relationship that starts out carefree but eventually collapses the foundations of everything in his life. The crisis is by turns humourous, tragic and epic, involving not only his own story but the story of generations in an eccentric family and an entire community.
