Young Cerdic possesses a mysterious knife with an ivory bear hilt--a treasure once given to him by a blind woman. Although Cerdic can see into the future, he is unable to fathom the purpose of the knife. Only when his brother Baradoc is killed while serving in King Arthur's army does Cerdic finally realize what the blade is meant for--and what he now must do.
