Abstract
A young family wakes to a ruined world - their city has been devastated by meteors, and Heather, Brendan, and their newborn twins are among the few survivors. A nearby mountain - the site of a tragedy that underlies Heather’s life - looms over the city, unharmed by the meteors. While other survivors struggle to stay alive, Heather is drawn to the mountain. Mythology, humanity, love, loss, devastation, and redemption drive this story forward, reminding us that it is the people we love who are the most important thing of all.
