Strange things are occurring on Mars since the Ares 10 spacecraft arrived. Astronaut Valkerie Jansen may have just discovered evidence of microbial life, but she is trapped by a cave-in. Even worse, something unseen is terrorizing Bob Kaganovski and the rest of the crew. Compounding their problems, NASA's intense scrutiny is beginning to blur the crew's focus on the mission at hand.
