Flying a Cessna from Seattle to Portland, Jarred Bryant, accompanied by his estranged wife's lover, crashes on the banks of the Columbia river. Waking in a hospital bed, he regains consciousness slowly and remembers little of the events leading up to the accident. As his parents, half brother and estranged wife linger by his bedside, Jarred faces a bleak future and wonders whose account of the accident is the truth.
