Abstract
In 1924, Phyl Munday did what no woman had done before - reached the summit of Mt. Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies. She climbed nearly 100 mountains; her physical prowess legitimized her in the largely male world of mountaineering. She found her lifetime climbing partner when she married journalist and mountaineer Don Munday.
