Abstract
Called to the deathbed of Claude, her long-ago first love, Evelyn succumbs to a cascade of grief for Claude, and their estranged son Tom. She embarks by kayak on a quest into the West Coast wilderness in search of thier son in the remote town of Sointula. Equal parts light and dark, compassion and irony, a story of a modern day female Don Quixote.
