The dwarves have returned to their home in the mountains and reunited with their rightful King, Uthgar, but with their arrival comes conflict with the humans. Owen is assigned a warrior to further his training, but not only is she a dwarf, she's also female. Owen's world is completely changed forever as a long-lost family member reemerges with hatred for dwarves. Newfoundland is rife with stories of fairies who mislead, play tricks, or sometimes, spirit folks away. A rustle of a leaf, a glint at the corner of one's eye--these fairies lurk, menacing and amoral, at the edges of settled life. The pages of 'Spirited Away' are populated by people who wander onto fairy paths or fall under the spell of mysterious music, who find themselves lost in surroundings long familiar, or find family members grown strange--people irrevocably changed by their eerie encounters.

The second in an ongoing series of Jack stories, featuring retellings and adaptations by Andy Jones, and illustrations by Darka Erdelji. The first, The Queen of Paradise's Garden, was published by Running the Goat in 2009. This story was partly inspired by Jonathan Goldstein's retellings of Bible stories, and by Mary Walsh and Cathy Jones's "Deb and Sheila" sketch. The narrative voice was inspired by the oral traditions of Newfoundland and Labrador, and uses the energy of the dialect and verbal traditions to capture the cadence of the language.

An Old Man's Winter Night: Ghostly Tales is the newest collection of ghost stories by Tom Dawe, one of Newfoundland and Labrador's most distinguished writers. The stories, all based on ones Dawe himself has collected across the province over the years, include tales of visitations both malevolent and benign. There are stories of ghostly galleons, of unsettling graves, of strange omens and fetches; an eerie tale of a notoriously haunted house haunted, or built on a fairy path; and another of a ghostly sled dog that returns to save its master lost in a blizzard.

The fish aren't biting, so Kimmy and Mike head off to see if they'll have luck on the other side of the ocean. En route they encounter a hurricane, a giant squid, pirates, a merman, an iceberg and much more. Theirs is a round-the-world adventure with plenty of fun. But it's still up to their mother to find something for the pot.

Jack and Mary are happy until an underhanded sea captain and Jack's bragging bring trouble into their lives.
