Will following his dreams take Trenton too far? All Trent has ever wanted is to be a filmmaker. But when his Uncle Mike, a Hollywood director, asks Trent to help him film the high-pressure world of stock-car racing, Trent gets a lot more than some great footage. Things go horribly wrong both on the track and off, but it’s up to Trenton to figure out how to save his uncle’s career without losing everything he values.

Phillip lives for skateboarding. School is merely the break between trying to land a difficult jump and outrunning the security guards. TJ is already more than occupied rescuing his cats and helping Gran get ready for her upcoming trip to Belize. When he goes with his dad to help with a renovation job on a huge house on Fairview Hill, he and T-Rex tangle with a rich girl and her giant dog, Frooie. Then Seymour develops stage fright, Alaska goes missing and the girl from the big house shows up on the Fairview quiz team.

After losing yet another tae kwon do tournament, Jinho gives in to his anger and breaks his opponent's fingers. While this gets him barred from competing at his dojang, it also gets him scouted by Austin, a trainer for an underground mixed martial arts club. At first the prospect of fighting without boundaries appeals to Jinho, but the more involved he gets, the more disturbing he finds it and the harder it is to find a way out.

In this sequel to TJ and the Cats, TJ and his best friend Seymour are back, joined by a classmate Amanda. TJ does not believe in ghosts, so when he agrees to create a haunted house in his own home as a fundraiser, he does not anticipate problems, at least not until it turns out that a ghost may inhabit the spare room in his century-old house. The ghost, real or imagined, leads TJ to some fascinating family history. TJ finds a way to bring that history alive for his family. The kittens, offspring of two of the cats from the first book, lead the way.
