All of this and more makes The Lives of Harry Lime one of the richest, most intriguing programs ever produced in Radio's heyday. As played by Welles, Lime is a rogue, a scoundrel, and an opportunist. He is also a fascinating character that listeners have always found undeniably attractive - an anti-hero whose life, in some ways, bears a close resemblance to that of Welles himself.

A woman's body is found covered with quicklime. Mrs. Hope Russell seems to have been murdered by her husband...but he was really killed by the Luftwaffe!

Before creating cinematic masterpieces like "Citizen Kane", Orson Welles established his creative credentials with "The Mercury Theatre on the Air", an hour-long showcase which allowed him, producer John Houseman, musical director Bernard Hermann, and a close-knit team of performers and technicians to broadcast innovative adaptations of both well-known and obscure stories - programs that quickly set a new standard for dramatic radio production.

Sidney Patterson's body has been found in a burning building. But, he was shot in the back! Mr. Patterson then turns out to be Duncan Frazier! The teeth tell the story.

It wasn't much of a story just an obituary, Mrs. Martha Orloff, age 62, scrub woman, death by natural causes, heart failure. But what's natural by killing yourself with a scrubbing brush. It would have only been a two-line obit if the other scrubwoman hadn't stopped him on his way out of the building.

A Winchester bottle is the exhibit in the Black Museum associated with the murder of a four-year-old girl. A set of mysterious fingerprints on the bottle cannot be identified. Scotland Yard decides to fingerprint the entire town of Blackbourne!

Alfred Wyman is a strange artist who wants to kill the wealthy Miss Gleason because she killed Vincent. Just when Randy has given up on a story for the night, he stumbles across an old man in a dispute with a taxi driver over the fare. The old man has no money so Randy pays the fare but is surprised when the gentle looking old man, Alfred Wyman, says he has to go to kill Miss Gleeson.
