It is World War II, and Nazi soldiers have been brought fo Fort Robinson as prisoners of war. The town, already heartworn from the loss of so many men, is divided in their feelings about the prisoners. CJ, now all grown up and running a horse farm--but still unmarried--uses prisoners as laborers. Josephine falls secretly in love with a German POW, but cannot dare reveal their relationship. Helen's husband returns from the war wounded, only to find his battles have just begun. Somehow, the community must come together in the faith of a God who loves unconditionally.
