    Summary:

    Lily Quinn is a 24-year-old university student, broke, and looking for love in all the wrong places. She will not be graduating along with her fellow schoolmates, as she continues to aimlessley wonder through life. Then she wins the lottery. Instead of cashing in her ticket, she decides to travel to Hawaii to visit her mother. Then one day, whilst Lily is visting her eccentric mother in Maui, she receives a phone call from Detective Spencer Patrick O'Malley of the NYPD, informing her that her roommate and best friend, Amy, is missing. She hops on the next flight back to New York, thinking that Amy will have shown up by the time she gets back. Upon arrival, however, Amy is still missing, and Lily needs to be questioned by Detective O'Malley. As the detective tries to find out what happened to Amy, he finds himself growing more and more attracted to Lily, as Lily finds herself falling for Spencer. However, Lily is not feeling very well physically, and finds that she needs Spencer's support more than ever. And the question of what happened to Amy remains at the top of everyone's minds. As the investigation goes on, Lily has to question every aspect of her life, her family, friends, relationships, and her new-found wealth.
