"Last stop! Everybody out!" Jonathan is trying not to make a mess, but someone has put a subway station in his apartment. So Jonathan goes to City Hall to fix the computer.

Se déroulant en milieu urbain et mettant en scène des enfants autochtones auxquels tous les jeunes lecteurs pourront s’identifier, ces histoires abordent les thèmes du foyer et de la famille. Kode connait beaucoup de choses, mais elle ne comprend pas ce que signifie "respect". Qui peut l'aider à comprendre le respect?

CONTES DE FILS ET D’EAUX est le résultat d’un projet de résidence et de création initié par l’Alliance Française du Manitoba et La Maison Gabrielle-Roy. Il associe, d’une part, Bertrand Nayet, auteur et illustrateur manitobain et, d’autre part, Eveline Ménard, conteuse, musicienne et fileuse québécoise. Ce projet a réuni les deux artistes pour créer des histoires qui sont publiées dans ce recueil de contes oralisés et illustrés.

Ce récit, illustré à la main par l'auteure, raconte l'expérience de la pêche sur glace d'une jeune fille urbaine qui visite des membres de sa famille au village métis de Saint-Laurent au Manitoba.
